Thunderfury acquired at last

With a very generous donation of x10 Enchanted Elementium Bars from an old mate (thanks Rakk), I was able to skip the farming of mats – and run straight over to Highlord Demitrian in Silithus to complete the Thunderfury quest line. Darn excited.

Portable Anvil and Forge – a wishlist WoW Engineering item

Aside

Anvil and blacksmith hammer

I’ve seen all sorts of gear for Engineers in wow, and its great. Check your mail with the portable letterbox, teleport around with the trinkets, control your enemies with the mind control hats, and make useful bombs.

What I would really like to add is a Portable Anvil and Forge. Anytime (on a 1-3 hr cooldown perhaps) you can pop the item and have access to an Anvil and Forge to knock together whatever gear you need.

Oh, and more teleporters. Being able to jump around the world is so wonderful.

New Legendary: Shard of the Demon Soul?

Larisa at Pink Pigtail Inn has a nice post about the drama and joy involved in Legendary items. Hmm Legendary items…..drool. At some stage I’d like to get something akin to that, even if it was just something uber rare. You know for bragging rights.

It got me thinking of what would be a good Legendary item around the DeathWing story. And it’s pretty clear to me that something called the Shard of the Demon Soul (or similar) would be great.

It sounds kick-arse to new players who don’t know the lore. If you know the lore, then even a shard or segment of it would be powerful, and it has all the aspects of a Legendary quest chain to boot. The caverns of time could get a great workout here as we jump back in time to when the Demon Soul was destroyed, so instead of it being totally unmade, the shard remains. And when we’re finally ready to dispatch DeathWing, we earn this little beauty to help complete the fight.

What about of Legendary items:

  • Restored Dragon Soul?
  • Essence of Sunwell?
  • Tooth of Sagearas?
  • Lost Eyes of Illidan?

We could even make it a little funny or odd, by way of pitching the stuff you know must have existed but is really supposed to be lost in time.

Downranking Paladin Tank stats

kid in a toy tankWhile you’re leveling you’re always hunting for the best gear, and IMHO good Tank gear is not as common as other stuff. As you get to 70 that gear continues to improve well past the pre-70 items.

But I’ve noticed that as a Paladin Tank you need to swap gear out if you’re doing a lower level instance (downranking gear rather than spells). This is so that you’re not as tough as you are normally.

You’ll actually take damage, so you can get healed; and continue to load threat where you need to.

Q. How rare are pre-70 Paladin tanks, and what can we expect? Continue reading
