I bet Ulduar repair is the new gold sink

Quick thought, the new gold sink that I’ve discovered is repair bills. I wonder who is the biggest contributor to the pain?

Well the wow stats site would normally tell us, but it appears to be missing some name data. My hunch is that new 3.1 bosses and items are the things missing.

Gold beggars are not very bright?

It would be interesting to know what the hit rate is for begging in Warcraft. Given that people still do it, somebody must be feeding these guys with money? Maybe its part of  a mini-game for them.

Imagine a guild or forum based around screen-caps of people giving them money. Like a strange form of social engineering testing, where he who gets the most gold by begging is the “Master Beggar”.

But I doubt its that cool, organised, or intelligent.

Another idiot named Hartlessq on Nagrand begs for gold. What did he think would happen?

I’d normally blur out the names, but in this case I’m angry. Hartlessq the Death Knight is only the most recent ass-hat to beg money from one of my characters. At 58 he has more than enough levels to make money easily. I guess he doesn’t really know what tough love is.

Am I broke yet?

Power-grinding my Mining and Blacksmithing is a huge and expensive undertaking, especially as a lot of players are doing it. Price change over the last week has been huge. I’ve decided to pause this process until the market bloat slows down, which I hope starts shortly. Basically I’m blowing huge amounts of gold on trying to do this the quick and dirty way, without actually mining anything. Copper Ore are expensive and Silver Ore is just insane.

Here is the other solution: everyone just stop! Go play chess, go outside, whatever. I don’t care. Leave the AH alone, stop leveling your DKs. Leave the server and all the mobs to me.

Its all mine; mine! My precious…

Observations and Intollerance of Players

Warning: This is a rant. Skip if you dislike strong language and intolerance.

There are a few types of people who grind on my personality. Not just the folks who mildly  perturb you; these are people who you’d cross the street to slap if it wouldn’t mean jail time.

In “game” the odd/irritating players are pretty easy to stumble upon, and the really painful ones are easy to stumble upon but can’t be silenced by a palm to the head. You’ll see them bouncing around begging for gold, or making asshats out of themselves in trade/general/lfg as you move around them to quest. Continue reading

Dancing on a mailbox is so last week

For those guys seeking a good source of money in early levels, try parking a few alts in front of the Stormwind Bank. Then join General and Trade, and watch the human wall of noise. Every now and then somebody will yell for signatures for a guild, which on my server can go for 1-5 gold each. Its nuts, but my three bank alts have made me about 15g in the past week without trying.

When I think back to having 5g on a level 6 toon, that was a huge amount of money.
