Cinder Kitten Pet go to charity

The Cinder Kitten pet (nom nom nom) is the most recent little gem being sold as a vanity item in the wow store. It’s cute, grants no mechanical advantage, the proceeds go to charity (Red Cross), and is high res entertainment.

More power to all involved I say!

Cinder Kitten by WoW Insider (nice job guys). Click for the charityWill I buy one? Probably not, but I love that these are around for the folks who like pets, and also that Blizzard-Acti keep the charity spirit alive.

  1. I think it’s shows great willpower of Blizzard to put all this time and effort in making a unique pet model, which would bump Blizzard’s finical records if released for profit, to donate all of the processes to the hurricane relief.

  2. It’s a good move by Blizzard. Lots of people who otherwise wouldn’t have bothered to donate will now be giving money to help.

  3. I think “grants no mechanical advantage” isn’t true any more with pet battles as store pets are better (as good as rare if I’m not mistaken).

  4. @ Sarevok, thats true – the pets are blue quality. What I meant was that they grant no advantage in normal game terms for PvE or PvP. Good point though, this is allowing purchase for an advantage, and it highlights that the past pets purchased through the store are pretty good too.
