Gearing Quick Tip – Ghost Iron Dragonling

The trinket Ghost Iron Dragonling is one of the best ways to get a character’s gear improved quickly. It is generally cheap and available, and offers a highly customisable a item for your Trinket slot; which is a gear slot where it can be hard to get upgrades.

All toons can use these for each gear-set spec, as they are BoE and unique equipped.

If you’re not using a item level 450 trinket yet, go grab one of these. I’ll cost anywhere from 100g to 280g-ish to grab, plus some change for the Engineering sockets. If you know an Engineer it is almost insultingly cheap to craft.

Each of the three sockets adds +600 in a secondary of your choice, adjustable just like a gem slot. So all you need to do is look up the stat weighting for your current spec choice and add a socket for each of the top three.

A nice side affect is the mini-pet that frequently gets summoned to help you fight. The dragonling does not inflict much damage (a frontal cone instantly inflicting 3750 to 6250 nature damage), but a good animation. It is great for multi-mob packs when farming drops as a Tank.

Portable Anvil and Forge – a wishlist WoW Engineering item

Aside

Anvil and blacksmith hammer

I’ve seen all sorts of gear for Engineers in wow, and its great. Check your mail with the portable letterbox, teleport around with the trinkets, control your enemies with the mind control hats, and make useful bombs.

What I would really like to add is a Portable Anvil and Forge. Anytime (on a 1-3 hr cooldown perhaps) you can pop the item and have access to an Anvil and Forge to knock together whatever gear you need.

Oh, and more teleporters. Being able to jump around the world is so wonderful.

Transporter Accident Metamorphosis

The reliable engineering transporter got me to Netherstorm really quickly, but it seemed that it couldn’t decide what race I looked like. I like a good transporter accident, and having the metamorphosis continually change kept me guessing. I thought when you switched you were stuck to the one form, but as I zones in and out, and also got different buffs my form changed.

Its just plain freaky.

A good Trasporter Accident

This time the transporter extracted all the evil thoughts from my pally, and only his good side remained. Goodness makes you slightly yellow and transparent (consider that for a moment). A larger version taken at Toshley Station is here.

I think I preferred the Evil version more.

Now that I’ve had two, my goal is to see if I can “collect” all the affects.

Transporter Accident

The Engineering teleporters are pretty cool, and one of the key reasons I kept Engineering. And as strange as it may sound I like that every now and then they go wrong. You can be pop’ed in the air to potentially fall to your death (parachute cloak FTW), come out as a monster, a shade of half yourself, or even you evil twin.

Yesterday I saw my paladin’s evil twin. All quasi-translucent and red. Like a Shadow Priest, but full of red rage.
