ghoul becomes battle-res

I don’t mind the patch 4.1 change which makes the ghoul res into a battle res. In fact it gives a Death Knight some raid utility, which is a good change. Huzzah, some reason to take us – we just need some 1 min CC now.

I’d just like a bit of RP flavour to go with the change of the spell, and if truth be told I’d rather they added it as a new power rather than change the ghoul-res. I liked the ghoul-res.

It would be acceptable to me lore wise if the character was raised with a replacement title over their head, something like: <Naughtymage, DeathKnight’s Minion>. Then have the player die again at the end of the fight for RP affect without a repair cost.

Think of it like the Death Knight has momentarily forced the person’s soul back into their body, restoring them from death to complete a task; then they are discarded.

A few Death Knight names

Many folk like to reserve names, and I’m one of those foolish types who has trouble making up names quickly. Its the roleplayer in me that feels that a name is something that should either be unique, or impart something of the character.

There were so many names, even odd names that were taken, and almost every combination of  Blood+blade, Doom+hammer, etc…was gone too. Kinda expected that given Nagrand has a reasonable population.

I’ve obviously been slow on the uptake. In no way will I have a character named Arthasz, Illadun, Thrallll type name. That stuff is (a) silly, (b) really unoriginal, and (c) been done to death, heated up, flogged, burnt, and burried permanently.

eg. The persons name might be Malecento (a made up name), or Dawnbringer, for what the person’s actions might have been.

In that vein I’ve taken on board all the “emo” thoughts of a hero who died in battle, and has been torn from death and conscripted into an unholy army (feel the emo yet?). You only get a few slots so it was hard to pick some.

Some name I’ve tagged on Nagrand:

- Decrepit, Devour, Defile, Vitiate, Raze, Mortigen, Frosthand, Pulverise (I know thats cheating due to the spelling, I’m an Australian).

Got yours yet?

Deathknights vs Paladin Prot DPS

Just read a bit about the DeathKnight class at WoW Insider and a few other places. All the usual stuff (tank/dps hybrid, summon undead, runes, etc,) but what really made me laugh was the quote:

“Worldofwar.net also mentions that Tom Chilton, in his Death Knight presentation, told them that they are leaning toward letting all tank types do more DPS while tanking”

Well a Prot spec Paladin could hardly do less DPS. Killing a mob is like digging a hole with a tea spoon! Fix prot spec Paladins (I’m not sure about Warriors and Druids?) so that they can do daily quests and such, and you’ll see far more people playing them. That means more Tanks.

Its not rocket science.
